Summary
Embryonic project to develop land and a building in a small village on the island of Cres.
Key Points
- Location: medieval town, 12 inhabitants, surrounded by forest and sea (very beautiful), 5 hectare site.
- Plans developed from a Permaculture Design Course led by Tony Anderson on the site.
- Plans include renewable energy generation, a vegetable garden, woodland, grain, water management.
- Possibility to create a public Permaculture garden with the organisation next door.
Suggestions from Audience
- Observe site for whole year, then repeat the design process to improve on the design (could include neighbouring organisation in this process).
- Start implementation on small garden, then expand from there.
- Essential to make plans but also to allow for change.
- Collect statistics - such as rainfall.
